Allan Marshall: Setting High Standards After almost 40 years in quality roles of one sort or another, you could say that Allan Marshall has earned his semi-retirement – what he calls the fifth phase in his illustrious career. Relaxing on his patio overlooking Lake Serenity in the Gold Coast, he shares with Accreditation News his memorable moments, as well as his frustrations with bureaucratic standards and certification processes.
New Version of ISO 9001 Published
ISO published ISO 9001:2008 on the 14th of November 2008. Organisations certified by JAS-ANZ accredited certification bodies to ISO 9001:2000 must transition to the 2008 version by the 14th of November 2010.
RTAC Scheme Released
JAS-ANZ recently released a new scheme, the Reproductive Technology Accreditation Committee (RTAC) Certification Scheme.
The ISO Survey of Certifications – 2007
ISO has published its international survey of certifications to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and a selection of other ISO standards.
GPA Achieves Highly Recommended in National Awards
GPA ACCREDITATION plus (GPA), a JAS-ANZ-accredited certification body, has achieved a highly recommended award in the Australian Achiever Awards for Specialised Services – scoring a customer service rating of 89.83 percent.
Draft Organic Standard Attracts Significant Interest
Development of an Australian Standard for the organic industry has reached the next stage, with Standard Australia’s Organic and Biodynamic Products Committee currently working through an unprecedented number of comments from industry and the public.
JAS-ANZ Signs MOU with ACFS
In late November 2008 JAS-ANZ signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards (ACFS). ACFS is an accreditation body established by the Thailand Government for the agriculture and food sectors.
